Getting physical activity as a homeschooling family is a challenge. We don't have enough children for a rousing game of Red Rover and tag just isn't that fun when you only have two other people to tag. So enters the Pines Academy PE Cards.
I got this idea from Homegrown Mom and after pinning it on Pinterest I realized that I'm not the only homeschooling mommy who needed PE ideas as it has been repinned multiple times!
The older girls and I sat down this week with a stack of index cards and some sharpies and wrote down physical activities we can do together for 30 minutes each day. It was fun hearing the things the girls came up with (breakdancing, anyone?) and they look forward to choosing a card each day. It's a great way for both them AND me to get some exercise in each day.
I love that the girls get so excited about choosing a card for the day. Some of them are for "special" days (kids' classes at the gym, swimming) but there are plenty that could be done any day of the week (Wii games, hopscotch, jumping rope, etc).
If you're a homeschooling family, what kinds of things do you do to keep your kids active?

I'm sending this to my mom! She was just asking me for ideas for my sister!
