I started a second job this week. Crazy, right? I already work a full-time on-call weekend job. I homeschool my children. And now I'm working another job! I really love it though and it will only be a couple shifts a month at the inpatient hospice facility here in town. I love the nurses, the doctors and the patients there so when one of the nurses approached me about working a prn (as needed) job I jumped on the chance. I have four more shifts of orientation and then I'll be able to start signing up to help out when I'm able.
The awesome thing is this job is not a necessary job--meaning, we will not depend on it for our income. It will all be "bonus". First thing I'm doing with my first paycheck...new flooring in the schoolroom and living room! The carpet is way past it's prime and I'm ready to pull it up and get it out of here! After that, I'll be putting every bit of my earnings to our van. I'm hoping I can get that baby paid off by next year this time.
So life, which was already crazy, is about to get even crazier. I have decided to make things easier for next year in homeschool we are going to go back to My Father's World for our curriculum. I love that everything is laid out so nice and neat and I don't have to do lesson plans! Aaron and I are going to the homeschool convention in a few weeks and I can't wait to go to the book fair! I love the homeschool convention.
So that's what we've been up to. Work first job, homeschool, gym, work second job, rinse, lather, repeat.
In other news, I'm officially down 29 pounds now! I'm really starting to notice a difference in my body and my clothes. I've had to buy new underwear, new workout pants (because mine kept falling down!), and all my old clothes are baggy. I'm holding onto my old clothes as long as I can. I don't want to buy a bunch of clothes that won't fit in 6 months! I'm planning on running a 5K on July (eek!) and at the moment I am in second place in the weight loss competition at my gym. First place wins $200, second $100 and third $50. We have two weeks to go!
So that's my monthly update. I hope after school is done for the summer I'll have more time to get back to blogging! I've been so slack lately!
You are truckin' lady!! I am so proud of you!!
