First Park Day 2011

Someone has been sick in our household for the last 3 weeks. It's been rotating amongst all of us with Madalyn and I being hit the hardest. She woke up with a fever of 102 and a sore throat last Monday night resulting in a trip to the doctor's office Tuesday morning and a diagnosis of strep throat.

Friday night I spiked a major fever (over 103 degrees depending on the thermometer), chills (ten blankets on me and I was still shivering) and a very runny nose. I felt fine the rest of the weekend but today woke up with a sore throat. I went to the Urgent Care center and came out with a diagnosis of strep throat along with prescriptions for pain medicine and an antibiotic.

Before all that happened though the girls and I went to the park this afternoon for a little while. The weather has been beautiful the last few days (in the 70s) and although it was crazy windy today they enjoyed getting out in the sunshine for a little while.

It was a such a nice day even if it did end with a trip to the doctor and the pharmacy for me!  I just told a friend we needed a good big storm to clear some of the nasty germs out and guess what?  It just started pouring outside.  Yeah for (almost) Spring showers!
